The van was in a barn
in a partly dismantled state with bits everywhere. |
A hired trailer was used
to transport the van and bits 200 miles home. |
||||||
The van was in a poor
state but it would repair. These vans are very rare so Robin could not choose
a better example. |
Many new panels were
purchased to carry out the repairs. Care is required to maintain the alignment
of the vehicle. |

|
|||||||
The new panels were welded
in using spot, MIG and gas. Temporary crossmembers ensure alignment. |
The panels welded in
and the cab looking complete again. |

|
|||||||
The new floor and sill
in place looking as good as new. |
The rusty inner wing
full of holes and too bad to repair. |
||||||
The inner wing cut out.
The front panel helps with alignment. |
The inner wing that was
left was prepared to except the new panel. The bit that is left helps alignment. |
