The advert for the car.
I purchased it for £450 and drove it as standard for
a while. It was great fun, nippy and very easy to hold in side ways slides.
The steering circle was very tight and the car was very easy to hand brake
turn.

Stripping of the car
soon started. The engine and gearbox were sold for £20. Many
people thought I was crazy selling my twin cam Minor to buy an old Reliant,
then taking it apart.

I was reading many magazines
at the time and this Camaro had the stance I was looking for and influenced
how my Kitten would look.

I did a few sketch's of how the
rear end would look with the proposed big tyres.

The front was soon cut
off, a difficult job with all the double skinning.

narrowing with the mounts. A Volvo axle was chosen because of availability,
strength, ratios and ease of narrowing.

The body was hung from
the roof at ride height and the rear wheels and tyres put into position. The
axle width is simply the distance between the wheels.

Wheels are 10" x 15" and the tyres are N50 x 15 ( an American size
).
