The van as purchased.
The van back used to belong on John Hazletts van which we converted into Nigels
convertible. I paid £300 for the van and sold parts off for £150. |
The lad who had the van
was going to put in a smooth dash like Robins. I cut out the mess and this
is what is left. |

I cut an original Minor
dash out of a bulkhead which we had in stock. |
The new dash was welded
in by plug welding and spotting. |

The floor was a patch
work of metal so I cut it out. Cutting was done with a chisel and angle grinder. |
The top was also removed
from the top of the chassis rail and the rails cleaned out. (rust, dirt, sand.) |

A new floor was cut from
18 swg steel. The holes are for plug welding through to the chassis rail. |
This floor will actually
be stronger than an original Minor commercial because it is all welded together.
A normal floor only sits on top of the chassis. |

The finished floor. Runs
of weld are also put underneath along the chassis rails. |
Over the years I have
learn`t about the weak spots on Minors. One such area is the eye bolt mountings
for the front lower suspension arm. So I am going to make mine strong. |
