The front coilover in
position. The Minor normally uses torsion bars but these are awkward to uprate
so I converted to coilovers. This means I have a wide choice of springs at
reasonable cost. |
The normal way to uprate
the brakes on a Minor is to fit Marina discs but I can fade these with only
a 1300cc engine so I intend to fit vented discs from a 2.8i Capri. The hubs
require machining to make them fit. |

Spacers were made for
the oil seals. These hardened and ground items were made by Steve Phillips
of DS Eng. (see links) |
The vented disc on the
Ford Escort hub. The machining required is boring the bearing housings in
the hub and reducing the disc mounting surface, to move the disc closer to
the hub. |

The callipers are going
to be Princess 4 pots. This required a new calliper mounting bracket on the
upright. |

The Princess callipers
with spacers to widen them so they will fit over the wider vented discs. Note
coilover mounts and tie bar. Rubber boots will be fitted over the spherical
bearing. |
The new coilovers are
putting forces into the chassis in different places so reinforcement is required.
This crossmember connects to the roll cage. |

The Morris Minor steering
rack mounting as standard are weak and the floor moves when steering so I
added bracing linking the mounts to crossmembers. |
Morris Minor wipers are
single speed and slow so this is a 2 speed unit modified internally to give
the correct sweep and to give a faster wipe. |
